Master Plan Public Survey

The Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department has begun writing our 2025-2029 Master Plan. As part of that process we have created a survey for the public to participate in so that you can provide your input in what you would like to see out of our parks in the next 5 years. There will also be a chance for you to attend a public meeting with the first being on May 13th at 6 p.m. in the Fowler Park Log Barn. As you start your survey, please keep in mind that our parks include:
Fowler Park
Prairie Creek Park
Hawthorn Park & J.I. Case Wetlands
Griffin Bike Park
Ruble Park
Dewey Point/ Bicentennial Park at Wabashiki State Fish and Wildlife Area
Markle Mill Park
George and Ida Smith Park
Lee Fields Park
and the R. Kermit Flesher Memorial State Nature Preserve
We thank you for your time and input!

  1. Disappointed that Brittlebank Park is not included in the masterplan. Pickleball is a fast-growing sport, potentially big for the community. With the proper promotion and further attention to facilities, it could be a huge draw for Terre Haute.

    1. Hi Denise, we can not include Brittlebank Park as we do not own that park. It belongs to the city of Terre Haute and we can only include parks in the Master Plan that we own which are the county parks listed. We do, however, have plans to add Pickleball to Prairie Creek Park hopefully as soon as this year.
