Maple Syrup Guessing Competition

The Vigo County Parks Department is gearing up for its fourth annual Maple Syrup Guessing Competition! Beginning Sunday, January 1st, we challenge you to guess the potential total syrup production in gallons (gal) for 2023!

To be valid, your guess must be sent to the VCPRD Facebook page through Facebook messenger. Submissions made as comments or posts to our page on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter will NOT be accepted.

The final date for submissions will be Tuesday, January 31st at midnight. We will select a winner once the tapping season has ended and our maintenance staff produces a total final yield of maple syrup production!

The Facebook account whose guess is closest to the nearest gallon will receive a free quart-sized bottle of maple syrup! Good luck!

(Hint: in previous years, our total syrup production has varied greatly. Our total yield has ranged from 0 to 600 gallons. Warmer tapping seasons yield fewer gallons of maple syrup.)

Join us for The Christmas Walk!
