3rd Annual Family Day Fishing Rodeo this Saturday at Hawthorn Park!

Join Bass Unlimited Foundation and Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department for the 3rd Annual Family Fishing Day Rodeo! Registration and fishing hours are open between 8:00am to 11:00 am at the Burkeybyle Shelter, you can come and go as you please, and you don’t need to fish the entire 4.5hrs. Last weigh-in at 11:30 a.m. Free prizes & raffle gifts for ages 15 & under begins at 12:00 p.m. You must register for this event to be eligible for the 1st place $50.00 gift certificate from Academy Sports + Outdoors Terre Haute, IN. Registration for this event is only available on site during the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

**All Adults are required to have a Fishing License**

All proceeds from this event go to support Vigo County Park Lakes and Bass Unlimited Foundation mission to: Provide resources for conservation, preservation and restoration of fish populations in public accessible waters for today’s Anglers and future generations.

Tuesday, July 7th VCPRD Board Meeting Cancelled

In light of Governor Holcomb’s new phase ” Stage 4.5″ vs. “Stage 5” and related concerns, the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Board has CANCELLED the planned board meeting scheduled for tomorrow, July 7th.  All items on the agenda can be addressed at the regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, July 27th at 4:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and is held in Council Chambers in the Vigo County Government Annex Building located at 155 Oak St., Terre Haute, IN 47807. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Summer in the Village this Saturday

Pioneer Village cabins will be open for the public to tour this Saturday, June 20th for Summer in the Village starting at 10:00 a.m. Tour the open cabins and get to witness our pioneer volunteers demonstrating pioneer era skills.

** We ask all visitors to please follow social distancing guidelines while visiting the village. If you see another household group inside a cabin with our volunteers please wait outside until the group leaves. Groups going into cabins must be limited to 5 or less. Maintaining a six (6) foot distance with those not in your household is required in all cabins and throughout the village at all times. Thank you all for your patience and support.**

2020 Camping Season Update:

CAMPING SEASON UPDATE: Pending this week’s Governor’s orders, we plan on the 2020 Camping Season to open first thing in the a.m. Sunday, May 24th. Stay tuned for updates this Friday afternoon. We look forward to a great camping season!
